make leisure count

Kayak Fishing at Forster

2020 confirmed for me, an appreciation of hobbies and of parents who taught me how to use leisure-time. It’s difficult coming back to work while the vegie patch is pumping and the fish are biting (someone else’s line).

As a student, I studied ‘Recreation’, with a little amusement. Now, as a career practitioner, I see leisure pursuits as an interesting indicator of abilities, interests and aspirations.

Are the values you hold dear in your recreational pursuits matched in your work values? eg. fast pace, need for community, attention to detail, status, helping etc? OR is leisure mostly about finding the ‘opposite’ to work?
