Career values exploration activity

Deciding

You likely have multiple roles – worker, carer, student, business owner. Priorities change quickly. A dream job, study or a new direction may play second fiddle to other commitments.

Together, we examine your skills, interests, aspirations, values, history, opportunities, barriers, education, and decision-making capability. We may use fun but effective tools, like the values exploration activity shown here. We can review the labour market and the importance of lifelong learning.

YOU are the expert in your life – but a sounding board can help move your story on track.

Based on career development frameworks, regarded as best practice tools by Australia’s top career specialists, you will receive one-on-one guidance to set and achieve career goals but to be flexible to embrace opportunities when they surface.

The knowledge gained will instil confidence and enable you to maximise opportunities for this and FUTURE career transitions.

Contact me to discuss a package that’s right for you. One or two sessions may be enough. Reductions available for multiple sessions OR you might want a combination of services.

Cover letters, selection criteria, job application documents

Cover letters are an opportunity to sell the unique you. They vary depending on whether or not you’re responding to an advertised role. If a cover letter requires addressing selection criteria, this is a separate service.

Selection Criteria, can be similar for more than one role. Once I step you through the formula, you might want to tackle these for future roles.

Again, my vision is for you to become self-sufficient. We can work together or I can provide feedback on your efforts.  Selection criteria may ask about past behaviours and while I can polish your stories, you need to provide them.

Price dependent on role requirements . Discussed upfront and quote provided.

Lady playing piano to emulate interview practice

Interview preparation and coaching

“PRACTICE is key”, said Mum. Same for interviews, but this can be fun, although confronting at first.

Once you know the cues and how to respond, you’ll practice to you heart’s content with family, friends and the mirror. Apart from the basics, there are methods that work best in certain scenarios eg. Public service, videos, panels, groups.

My pricing for interview coaching is VERY competitive. Indeed, I encourage you to review comparable services that can offer such value-for-money for interview prep and coaching. I LOVE this work and guarantee you WILL learn new informaiton that can be applied in your next interview, without the need to pay me the same as a medical specialist!

You will take away reminder reference information that is customised especially for you and the areas you could brush up on.

Read the testimonials from graduates, Mariah and Emily - they ‘owned' their interviews for engineering roles and are doing very well in their careers!

Price - $80 per hour or $210 for 3 hours (spread over 2 or 3 sessions)

For the family…

Witnessing a spouse or teen experience career uncertainty?

If a young person, you care for is struggling to navigate work / study options, please be in touch. Cutting through the barrage of information, we’ll engage one-on-one. We can use some great resources that are powerful for assisting to articulate strengths and aspirations.

I can assist school students, uni students, graduates, professionals, tradespeople, prospective or current apprentices and trainees

Working in the Vocational Education and Training sector, I learned skills to assist apprentices recoup lost time and advise students pertaining to study, student loans, recognition of prior learning or other work-related issues that can be challenging to navigate.

NOTE the new service offering specifically for those seeking an apprenticeship or traineeship on the separate tabhour of power

Males can feel as disorientated or stuck as anyone about work, although are perhaps less inclined to admit it. Gents I’ve assisted so far, (from uni student Aldi-applicant to project managers, senior administrators and engineers), have mostly been referred by female friends or family.

Outside TCC, for the last two years, I’ve largely been recruiting males for a range of industry settings. I draw, also, on hundreds of interactions with employers who have provided interesting perspectives on recruitment in male-dominated industries.
